Appears difficulties have currently subsided. Wished to remind any with lingering injuries of presence of clinic in Gozu district. Suggest prompt visit for varren bites. Carry number of diseases. Large number disfiguring and painful. Also attaching pamphlet for dehydration symptoms. Covers multiple races. Recommend increased intake of water.

[Sometimes, he's so helpful. He just doesn't want to waste time dealing with people who are still dehydrated a week later. Also attached to the video are his credentials as a scientist and physician.]

Reminder for new arrivals. Always welcome applicants to clinic. Number of positions available.

[Pause.]

Aware pyjak meat delicacy in some cultures. Have recently come into number of fully cooked specimens. Will part with them for small number of credits. Population appears to be decreasing in size.

[Where he's gotten the pyjak meat is clearly a mystery. He hasn't been setting them on fire himself or anything. Wherever have you gotten that thought?]

Otherwise, will be here. [He disconnects.]

Right, so... A bit of a water issue we're having.

[Which isn't said so cheekily since, after all, she was enjoying the opportunity to have someting like actual plumbing in this place, okay. Chamber pots are not cool. Omega has entirely spoiled her. But that's not the point.]

Until there's a more permanent fix...I can help out.

[She's been apprehensive about simply outing herself to too many people about her powers, but this is an emergency.]

Here. [She lifts a hand and there's a blue light surrounding it. Flinging her hand to the side, she casts at a bucket she's procured, freezing the space inside of it.] And just wait, I'm not done. [This time, she steps over to the bucket and casts fire, albeit carefully, until the ice has been melted into nothing but water.]

There. I can try to manage as much as is necessary, but I might get winded after a while. Emergencies come first [since some of you are amphibians and such] and then everything else after it.

[Salarians are far from uncommon on Omega. This one, however, is a new face around these parts. The only clue to his current location thus far is the dingy looking wall behind him. Could be anywhere, the walls all look like shit.

Considering the slight hint of irritation in his voice, it's very likely that this salarian is so far not enjoying his stay here.]

Judging by what I've heard, it would seem that I'm not the only one who has no idea why they've arrived on this station. I also seem to have lost track of a small group of salarians. The locals so far have been less than helpful. If anyone has more information regarding either situation, I'd certainly like to hear it.

[he pauses for a moment and takes a quick glance around. Satisfied with whatever he finds (that being nothing), he turns his attention back to his omni-tool]

My name is Kirrahe. Regretfully, for the time being the only thing I have to offer in exchange for information is my gratitude.

[after a quick nod, he cuts the feed.]

[[ooc: in reality he hasn't even wormed his way out of the docking bay yet. Action tags are welcome to anyone who feels like stumbling across a salarian /o/]]

If anyone is getting this who came off the shuttles, you have to listen to me.

[Shepard breaks off momentarily to look around the corner she's taken behind, and is rewarded for her efforts by nearly getting blasted in the face.

she's not bothering with introductions this time, and why should she? she's clearly in a combat zone. the sounds of fighting and dying compose the delightful soundtrack to this message. she's in state herself; full armor minus helmet, dirt and blood caking her face. couple that with her ferocious expression, and she can be a bit intimidating, even over vidlink.]

These are called adjutants. I won't bore you with a lecture about what they are beyond that-- [the reason why not made abundantly clear when she's shot at and is forced to duck down from flying bits of wall] --all you have to know is to keep them as far away from you as possible.

They don't want to kill you, they want to turn you into one of them. They do this by attacking you, causing injury, fluids exchange...it doesn't really matter. It happens when they get too close, and there's no going back. Keep them at a distance. If you can't fight, hunker down, locks the doors, let someone know where you are- If you can fight, I hope you can protect others as well as yourself! There's a small safe area here- [coordinates for an abandoned warehouse in the middle of Zeta, hopefully with enough space to take in a large amount of people], get yourself or others to it, and make a bigger perimeter if you can. Find and make other safe areas if you can't, keep us posted.

[the view swings downward suddenly and violently as Shepard finally pulls out of cover to take a few shots, before the feed cuts.]

[ooc: Shepard's going to try to round up non-combatants and set up safe zones, help people in trouble, take down the gross dudes, looking for survivors in locked homes... she'll need help getting into damaged areas (calling techie people!), fighting huge clusters of adjutants (calling fightie people!), and herding (heh) people to safety (calling support people!). ACTION LOGS GO]

[here is someone that has been watching the new arrivals on omega with a bit of interest - it's his job to keep an eye out for newcomers, after all, and some of these soft-looking fleshbags look .. well.

puny. fragile. all of the things that the krogans are very much not.

he peers into his omni-tool with a fair amount of skepticism, as bored as a krogan can look.]
So .. you're the new things that Aria has such a stick up that fine asari ass of hers about. Hrmph. Don't look like much to me. Pretty sure you'd all snap if I so much as looked at you wrong. Don't know why she cares so much about letting you stay.

[there's a pause, and something of a wry smirk as he peers a bit more intently into the omni-tool.] Tell you what. Why don't you pay me to protect your breakable asses, and I'll give you something a lot more interesting than clean-up work to do. What could it hurt?

Except .. well, all of you. The name is Kurr - come talk to me if you have any hope of surviving on this station for longer than a day.

[A week with no answers as to the circumstances of their arrival. Irritating. Luckily, he had some credits on him. He's not as well off as he would be if he could access all of his savings but there had been some money in his pockets. It puts him ahead of most of the new arrivals.

It also gives him a starting point. Mordin has been on Omega before. He's worked and lived here before. He knows the ins and outs of business here. He also still has contacts here--easily convinced that he is, in fact, still alive. No one pulls off Mordin, quite like Mordin.

The room behind him is neat and well-lit. The rooms beyond look like a terrible mess but there are one or two aliens scurrying about behind him that seem to be attempting to sort it out. Anyway, hello Omega, have an alien on your screen.]

Greetings. Professor Mordin Solus. Previously spent time on Omega. Successful salarian scientist and medical professional. Attack on Omega left shortage of facilities. New arrivals place strain on system in place. Wish to help in any way possible.

[He paces--Mordin is one of those people that always have to be in motion.]

Called in number of favors. Procured equipment necessary. Have reopened clinic in Gozu District. Hope to avert patient overcrowding during potential calamity. Location attached. Number of credits irrevelant. Will not turn patient in need away. Able to work out alternate method of payment.

This is Commander Shepard of the Earth Systems Alliance Navy.

[the video feed on your omni-tool starts without pomp or circumstance; SUDDENLY: SHEPARD. her expression is grim and though she started out staring the camera down, her eyes flick away uncertainly when she hesitates.]

...Citizens may have noticed many shuttles coming out of the Omega-4 relay bearing passengers. You and I both know that this is...impossible. As far as I can tell, most of these newcomers have little to no knowledge of our galaxy and come from a wide spectrum of technological advancement, but at the very least, most of them don't seem to have any intention of hurting anybody.

Though control and authority of this station is still Aria's, I want to assure you that this strange phenomena is being investigated, and action will be taken should the safety of the civilian populace be threatened.

[she sighs, letting some of the stiff, authoritative guard slide] If any crew members of the Normandy have also landed here that I haven't yet run into, they can find me in Afterlife. [with a dry, displeased tone:] Come whether you think I'm a fake or not.

[and the feed cuts.]

[Clickity-click. Hi guys. Hope you weren't hoping for a damsel in distress asking IS THIS THE REAL LIFE, because all you're getting from Shea the Bright Little Crayon is a very long, dramatically pitched,]

Hello-ooooooo?

[And pause.]

Man, this is some fancy gadget. Don't see the maker's name anywhere.

[Yes, that would be the sound of her shaking it to see if anything jingles inside. Now that's the sign of good workmanship. You're lucky she didn't just decide to sell it off.

(She's lucky, actually. But moving on.)]

Anyway-! I'm feelin' kinda lost right now, but I'm guessing one or two of you might be able to help me out? I'm looking for my big sis. Her name's Riley. Long brown hair, eyes like this, [she presses her fingers against the corners of her eyes and pulls softly,] Always smoking or talking about our bike. Always dresses in black, too. Can't be hard to miss!

[And yep! That's pretty much it. But after a beat her voice becomes a little distant, suddenly groaning with slight discomfort.]

Man, I should not have eaten that thing...

Anyway - thanks! Bye.

I don’t have all day to deal with you people, so I’ll make it quick. I didn’t bring you here. I don’t know how you got here or whose shuttles those are.

What I do know is that I don’t have time to deal with you. You see what condition this station’s in? You see what a crap job Cerberus did? I’ve got enough problems to deal with now that the relay’s out.

I don’t know who you are. I don’t trust you. So I’ll make this simple. You either get to Zeta District, or I’ll have someone shoot you.

And if I’m lucky, you’ll take care of that yourselves.

[ ooc: please be patient if we’re slow responding to tags! we have multiple mods writing her, but aria is a new voice for some of us. if you’ve got any crit, you can leave it here.

the playable area is currently limited to zeta district, which includes residential and commercial areas. this will be lifted in a few days; aria will make another post then. ]
