[Ashlynn was a quick learner, but even with her experience using the Sanctuary map she was having difficulty using the Omni Tool for anything other than browsing the vids others put out. She hadn't found a map of the station - surely there had to be one! - nor had she found any easy to follow directories of business and where to find them on the glowing orange artifact. The few people she'd asked had told her to look there for it and she was rather embarrassed to admit she was still completely stumped on this.

She hoped she could make her first address sound like she wasn't so lost and confused as to sound like an extraordinary dunce.]

Hello. I have only just arrived a few days ago and while I was shown to the Zeta District to choose my lodgings and gain some employment, I have not had success in finding the location of any financial institutions or a-

[She had to pause for a moment to cough into her hand. It was not a very healthy sound and was, in fact, rather pained.]

Ahem. A pawn broker. I have some bits and bobs I'd like to sell and some currency to exchange if I am able. Thank you.

[The feed was ended as another coughing fit over-took her.]

[ooc: If anyone would like to run into her in person, Ashlynn is hanging out near a small food shop located between neighborhoods and near to the 'entrance' of Zeta District - the 'entrance' that most shuttles will drop you off at if you don't give a specific location within the district.]

[That's right. Kirrahe had that same problem understanding what she was speaking of. She would have to learn the local word for it.]

Ah... 'personal requests for assistance'. Not jobs like a piemaker or a blacksmith, but one time aid that there isn't anyone who normally deals in such things as they need to call upon for. Such as looking for something they believe they dropped in a place they would have trouble looking themselves, or clearing out a bug infestation.

So you want to be able to track people who need things? I don't think there's anything like that. You could make requests on the network and ask for people to send you their coordinates to meet them.

[He's really starting to wonder what this girl does for a living.]

You talked about selling some items. What sort of items do you have?

[Still eyeing that huge weapon on her back and not sure he trusts it...]

I have some gold and a few rings I need to get rid of or exchange for credits. I've gotten a little bit of pay from helping with repairs, but I'd very much like to be able to buy more than just a small bowl of what passes for cheap edible food. Something that tastes good would be nice.

Just make sure you don't take the first offer someone gives you. A lot of shopkeepers here don't seem particularly honest.

[He puts a bit more space between them, rubbing the back of his neck.]

Was there anything else you had questions about?

Well, I'd like to know if there is a pawn shop or a financial institution that you know about. And your name, perhaps? So I know who to thank.

Not that I'm aware of, but it's a large place and I've only been here for a few weeks.

["only", he says...

Also, he has yet to give anyone his first name because he doesn't like running the risk of Westerners addressing him so casually -- so last name it is.]

... Utahoshi. You don't need to thank me.

[It came out sounding like 'oodahoshee' with her accent.]

Of course I need to thank you. You came to my aid.

[Like a knight, almost.]

It's only proper I do so. I am the Pr- I mean, my name is Ashlynn, Crown Princess of Albion. It's very nice to meet you.

[At this point, he's become rather used to people being unable to pronounce his name.]

There are people where I'm from who would want me to help others. I'm doing it for their sake.

[Of course, he's not going to go into details about his now-dead best friend always being the helpful one and trying to live up to his memory.

And since Kengo only calls one person by their first name...]

[Now if only being polite didn't sound like it caused him physical pain.]

Is the clinic Mordin's?

[She was quite used to being called by her title, even by those who were closest to her. It was as much her name as the one her father had given her.

She opened her mouth to speak, but had another coughing fit. This one pained her enough that she had to put her hand on the nearby table to hold herself upright and steady. When it passed, her smile came back, though it was obviously a bit strained.]

I believe you honor your people well, Utahoshi. I would enjoy meeting you again, but I think perhaps I should be on my way.

[She didn't say 'to the clinic' but it was implied.]

That it would be.

[Despite looking uncomfortably awkward, now he just looks concerned. Really, he's understanding why his friends used to be so concerned about him whenever he had his own health issues. Being on the other side of it isn't very fun either.]

You know how to reach me if you need to.

[He even bows a bit at her -- at least that action is something familiar to him, but Kengo really can't remember the last time he was this polite to someone. Considering her rank, which he would believe with everything else he's seen, he does feel it's necessary... After all, she's been nothing but nice to him.]

[The bow was also familiar. She grew up with the expectation that those she merely walked past would stand up from where they were sitting to offer a bow. It was so normal to her she didn't even notice he'd done it. Had he not, she would have noted the absence as he had so often in the weeks since fleeing the castle.]

[She gave another smile and offered a small wave of farewell, then started for the transports with her map open. A dog, a black and white Border Collie that had been laying docile under the table, got up and happily bounded along at her feet.]
