so, he's missed the part about zeta district being quarantined until just now, and he can't say he likes the look of what the hell is going on out there. he's seen these things before - because uh, didn't we just have to deal with this? come on! but it doesn't surprise him to see that here are still some stragglers left behind.

he peers into his omni-tool with one eyebrow raised, a very unimpressed expression sliding across his face.] So, I dunno about you guys, but I think I'm gonna stay inside for this one. It looks like it's raining bullets and damn if I didn't forget my bulletproof galoshes.

[pause.] I thought we got rid of all these things. Hey, either of you Shepards - what the hell's the deal?

See, now I'm just picturing somebody walking around with like .. a small child on a string dangling from the end of a fishing pole. [why do you make him think of these things.]

He's on his way here, actually. So no worries there.

I think that would be Aria's solution to the problem.

But I'm glad that you have someone to make sure you're alright. It's a nightmare on the streets. [Where she is, and it's not a fun time.]

Somebody should go suggest that to her, then. It'd take care of her little problem a lot faster than it's getting taken care of as it is right now.

[pause.] .. Why exactly are you out in the streets? I know you're a biotic, but .. you're not exactly the fighting type, Liara ..

No, I'm not really, but someone needs to be making an attempt at tagging these monsters so that we know where they are so we can wipe them out.

[She'll shift a little awkwardly.]

I can't just sit around and watch others risk their lives when I know I can do something. Even if my biotics aren't the strongest, I can do this a least and provide information.

[okay, yeah, so he's a little concerned for her. more than he would be for, say, alenko or vega, but even though liara's been with them through a lot of this bullshit, she'll still be more of the bookish type than one to actually go out and do some fighting.

his expression crinkles with worry, but he's quick to cover it up by shaking his head and moving the conversation right along.] What information needs giving when there are ugly blue zombies running around?

Where the ugly blue zombies are. I'm tracking them so we will know where they are and perhaps Shepard can come up with a plan.

[But she'll catch that expression of worry there Joker and will try her best to give him a reassuring smile.]

[he's just going to shake his head and .. leave you be. because there's nothing he can say to make you get your blue ass out of trouble, and he knows it.]

[She's stubborn if nothing else, but she respects Joker enough as a friend to address his concerns. She probably needs a break anyway.]

Yeah, you know. One of those things that sounds like a dog wheezing when it dies if you don't do it right. I think people on earth used to use 'em a lot a few centuries ago. It just seemed appropriate.

[he cuts off the feed and waits patiently for her to get there, and once she knocks at the door, he's moving to let her in.] Didn't get bothered by any homeless vorcha on the way here, did you? This isn't exactly the best part of town.

No, no problems getting here thankfully. The vorcha seem to be more scared of the lit pathways than usual.

[She'll step in, don't mind the scuffs and dirt on her armour, she's been fighting for a while.]

[it would seem his sense of humor is still lost on her, but he just shakes his head and usher her further into the place he now calls home.

he might notice the dirt on her armor, but he won't say anything. she's been fighting, after all, and he's not here to mother anyone.

[She gets his humour sometimes, but most jokes and teasing goes over her head sadly.]

All it would need is a few rugs and it might be almost like the Normandy. [Not really, but she's trying.]

Nothing could be like my baby .. ugh, I miss her. It'd make me feel a hell of a lot better if I could look out a window and see her in dry dock, or something. But noooo ..

There of you in this space? I thought it was crowded with myself and Shepard. At least Mordin doesn't need to sleep often.

I guess you're missing EDI as well as the ship.

[She knows that she's missing EDI's nice calm voice to talk to from time to time.]

Sounds like a very packed space if everyone is home.

[She'll just turn and give him a soft look.] She's an important person to you and the rest of the crew, it's strange not having her to assist me in research.

[you'd think an asari would somehow be less creepy than a yahg, but .. somehow that isn't the case right this second.

but he's waving a hand at her comment about how crowded it can be, even if she's right.] Like I said .. it's a good thing they're not usually here all at once. I'm pretty much the only one that's here all the time.

[and he's making a face that he's hoping she doesn't see.] It's just weird not having her around in general. She's been getting better about handling my jokes, did you know? Even getting better with her own.

[It's the mind control thing, that and the insane things that she knows about the crew. Asari are creepy in general.]

Someone needs to get good at handling all of your jokes, although I believe some of the subtleties are still lost to her.

[Not like Liara can really talk, she misses most teasing.]
