I think enough time for it all to sink in has passed that hopefully someone who knows this system can explain what exactly is going on for those of us from different universes and thus have never heard of Thessia or Reapers. Might help keep any misunderstandings due to such down if tensions keep building over this.

Especially as some of us are doubly handicapped in regards to being told anything by locals.

[If she sounds a bit worried through all of this it is easy to ignore or logic it as basic survival worry considering how people panicked when the news had first been breached.]

Also, there was a man named Dun who I haven't heard anything from in a while. Information on where he is or how to contact him again would be appreciated.

Nobody I've talked to seems interested in explaining it. From what I've gathered, the Reapers are a galactic-wide threat. I'm not sure who or what they are, however.

You would think if it is a galactic threat they'd give a bit more just so they could potentially make us want to help if the threat ever breaches their doors.

You would assume, but people around here don't seem interested in explaining much to us.

I wouldn't trust anyone randomly appearing, stranger or not.

It's just amazing that for a place that thrives on doing what you can to protect yourself and your assets that few are trying to spin this to their favor with us. Or at the very least attempted to rob us blind by telling their version of things to make us by their wares.

What would they steal from us, exactly? I didn't arrive here with anything of value.

Considering the power plays going on, we'd be more useful as cannon fodder then being 'productive' members of society.

Unless their's a black market for body parts no one has told me about that is.

Looks like we have a mutual acquaintance, but I haven't seen him around lately either.

Not like he isn't able to get himself out of trouble, but he's not one to be hidden away for long periods from what I know. Is he prone to dropping off the radar for long periods of times?

Maybe. He doesn't strike me as the type to be in the spotlight, but dropping off the radar for any period of time on Omega isn't a good sign.

Especially without a ransom or finding various parts of him on the black market suddenly. At least in places back home like this place.

I can answer the questions you have about Thessia and the Reapers, where would you like to begin?

Normally I would say strategic and military facts, but we're not exactly in a position for such to be helpful right now.

What exactly are Reapers? Especially if their current actions are as horrible as it seems from what little has been said.

The Reapers are a large group of sentient inorganic space ships. Their prime directive is to eradicate all advanced organic life in the galaxy as a kind of harvest to allow the more primitive species a chance to grow and build the galaxy's infrastructure back up only to have it wiped clean once again.

The horror of the reapers isn't that they just kill populations, they turn your own people against you by turning them into monsters or by controlling their minds and actions seemingly telepathically. They're not interested in synthetics, outside of those who wish to join them, like some of the geth, but they will stop at nothing to eradicate all advanced life.

[Well that certainly makes her very existence on this rock even more of a bad idea.]

I see, it makes no logical sense at all for such a reason, but that does explain quite a few things that have happened even before this latest development.

[She's not even going to ask what a geth is because she has something more worrying to wonder about.]

I don't suppose there's a way to show if a...synthetic as you say, can prove they actually do uphold all life deserves to live and have free will?

Most of us are wary of synthetics but I do not think that they would initially be part of the Reapers. The Geth uphold life and don't like conflict, of course our galaxy is wary of AIs but I've come to find them incredibly helpful.

[She'll pause to gather her thoughts, hopefully no one is too stupid to try to attack any robots.]

Unfortunately it comes down to individuals and what they think of synthetic lifeforms. People are scared, so that only makes their prejudice worse.

Thanks, you at least made certain I won't always expect someone trying to kill me for not being made of organic material.

I'll keep this all in mind as I try and help when we're actually allowed to help in regards to all of this. We are all stuck on this rock together after all even if a lot of us are murderers and black market dealers.

Most will be wary of you, but not outwardly hostile. Just take care not to push any people right now, they're frightened and that creates paranoia, unfortunately.

At this point any help is welcome, if you do need any assistance in information I'll do what I can to help. Anything to help each other is critical now, I'm not sure how this station is going to react over the next while with people trying to get to Thessia.

As callous as it sounds, trying to go to Thessia may be the worst idea right now, especially as we're not exactly a trained army.

Losing a home planet hurts, but as it stands no one has any idea how to fight back and win against these reapers it seems like. We'd be wasting lives and resources to try.

[Liara knows all to well that stopping the Reapers on Thessia will be a fruitless endeavour. Although she can't help but wonder if she could have gone there somehow and stopped Kai Leng...it was stupid to think about.]

THessia would fall even if we were there to assist. This is the second time I've had to watch the same thing happen to my home, to watch it fall to the Reapers without being sure that there is a way to stop them.

Perhaps it all is a waste, if we can't even understand why the relay is malfunctioning, how are we to stop the Reapers in their entirety?

It still doesn't make the want to wonder if you could have done something different to save your home go away. Or take it out on the ones who caused it. It's home right?

[Because Arcee can tell that there is some of the same sort of pain she gets when she thinks about how Cybertron was lost, and then the key to reviving said home is snatched away. You can't really hide that sort of pain.]

We'll just have to stubborn on and figure this out, somehow in regards to that relay and these Reapers. Rolling over and letting someone win has never been my style.

...It's always something you think about, what might've been done, could've been done, but I wouldn't be able to stop the fall of Thessia but maybe...no, I can't afford to think about how things could be different.

[Thinking about Thessia is still too raw for Liara to go through again, and now knowing that she's trapped here while Cerberus steals the crucial data from the temple of Athame only makes her more depressed about their situation.]

No, but against the reapers...it seems like a very bleak future unless we can defeat them. That doesn't seem possible right now.

Unless someone has a warping capability they decided no one needed to know about, this really does make little sense then.

Maybe there's a pattern we haven't noticed yet with their vanishing act...

Which is exactly why his silence is a thing of note. Maybe someone else has noticed him gaining enmity from someone that has the means to take him out.

But what is more damning to ones sense of safety? Someone making a huge production of ambushing someone to 'make an example of them' or never fully knowing just what has happened or who is to blame?

Unless you're worried of the ones you're trying to cow banding together and using your play for power as a rallying point to work against you. An injustice even a perceived one used by someone with enough charisma can turn even the most docile flock of followers into a problem. A lot of rebellions start that way.

[That's a really sore point for her as well to admit considering her history. But the pause is barely noticeable if you don't know what you are looking for in that regards.]

But if it is a personal grudge then no one has any leads, while if it's not most will see it as such this way and have a harder time making us band together to retaliate.

I didn't say there was one already, but with how things are going, and if more people get brought here. Something is going to give in terms of tempers and fear. Wars have started for far less then a few people going missing. Which is why finding out the truth now is a good idea so we know if it is someone trying to spark something or something else to worry about.
