Well this has been a lesson in that fond Law humans have about someone named Murphy. Water, small pests, larger pests that eat the smaller one while also trying to eat others, and fires.

I also think the guy I was sharing rent with is either dead or missing.

Considering this place...my bet is on dead.

He's human, part of the Talons I think it is and usually out during the night and drunk or close to such most of the time when he's not patrolling Theta district. Just in case there's a chance he just got lost in corner or some other slim chance of such.

Hopefully no one starts thinking the room is cursed or such due to this. Would make it harder to convince someone else to do so.

Curses and ghosts? Pah, nothing but superstitious nonsense. Omega would be over-run by the spirits if every man who was murdered unjustly returned to haunt their dwellings.

If I do hear of someone requiring new lodgings, I will let you know.

No one ever said everyone was logical. That or they may prefer roommates that actually breathe.

Minor annoyances mostly. I think I had to kick a few of those...varrens, after they were let loose when they tried to see if I was edible.

I see. It does not sound like you are injured from the fire as well. I would be disappointed if you were.

What do you think of all of these killings and the water shortage?

Being made of metal comes in handy sometimes in this place.

If it's not power plays then it might be someone testing how far they can take things. What better way to erode control of this Aria character then have the general public start to wonder if she really has control over the station as she claims.

A dangerous game to play. As lawless as Omega is, most of its inhabitants agree on Aria as the unofficial leader of this city. To attempt such a risky move can only mean two things: either that person is a fool with a death wish, or he has a strong, well-cultivated plan to take her out.

And we're just the pawns in this chess game. They could care less about what happens to us.

Or it's a fool that only thinks he has a plan that can not fail.

I'm not exactly going to stall my engines expecting anything more then some chaos and extra dead bodies in the streets from this.

One should always be prepared for the future.

How do you suggest we confront this potential threat?

It depends on your resources and advantages. Currently with how little resources within our control here and coupled with the disadvantage of this being the familiar territory of the mercenary groups...staying low and acting in more subtle means is the only way to keep lives from being tossed away frivolously.

Any aggressive acts by us outsiders right now would be more harm then victorious, if it's not a move in self defense. Information is the biggest thing that could help unless someone is hiding battalion in a shuttle somewhere nearby. The more we gain learn from them and have them believe we'd only attack when provoked the less likely they are to watch us too closely while stockpiling supplies and resources for the event that we would have to act first on a threat.

What you say makes sense, but how do you propose we gain this crucial information? I doubt the mercenaries will provide it to us. They seem content on watching us scramble around trying to make sense of this cursed city.

Getting someone on the inside. Unless you think you can sway someone already in the ranks to your cause. It may take a while, but it's either that or hoping you can spy on them enough to figure out what is going on by intercepted transmissions and movements.

There's also playing tourist. Have everyone new you trust wander around and ask questions. Learn who is in a feud with who, who would help who depending on what sort of help it is needed. Amazing what sort of patterns and habits you can learn by listening to gossip.

I'm not sure about the second option, but the first one is viable. I'll have to look for someone who's interested and who has the skills.
