Well this has been a lesson in that fond Law humans have about someone named Murphy. Water, small pests, larger pests that eat the smaller one while also trying to eat others, and fires.

I also think the guy I was sharing rent with is either dead or missing.

Considering this place...my bet is on dead.

He's human, part of the Talons I think it is and usually out during the night and drunk or close to such most of the time when he's not patrolling Theta district. Just in case there's a chance he just got lost in corner or some other slim chance of such.

There was a man who wore the insignia of the Talons; he was found dead a few days ago. I do not know if our omni-tools keep a record of the messages announced to the general public, but if it does than you should be able to find it.

I probably should check that, even just to confirm he actually is dead and didn't just decide to move out and just never got around to taking his things out just yet.

[Really Arcee, your concern is truly staggering over the guy you should feel some sympathy for at least.]

[Dun has no sympathy for mercenaries either, so he's not too bothered. He's more worried about the young man who found the body.]

Hopefully no one starts thinking the room is cursed or such due to this. Would make it harder to convince someone else to do so.

Curses and ghosts? Pah, nothing but superstitious nonsense. Omega would be over-run by the spirits if every man who was murdered unjustly returned to haunt their dwellings.

If I do hear of someone requiring new lodgings, I will let you know.

There have been a few Talons turning up dead recently. It's possible that your roommate was one of them.

Sounds like someone's acting on an old grudge. Interesting how that started up around the same time as the rest of the chaos.

I say there's no such thing as a coincidence. As far as the mercenaries go I probably know the least about the Talons, but I am aware that they were the ones trying to repair the water systems. It's likely that someone didn't want them doing that.

Or used the distraction of them trying to fix problems to take them out for other means. But that would involve a lot of patience and planning. This place it's hard to tell how much is plotted and how much is just no one caring how they solve their grudges.

It doesn't help that group is protecting us newcomers. Someone is likely to take offense to that.

It's possible, but it doesn't seem entirely likely. Newcomers means new recruits. Even if the mercenaries only intend to use us as canon fodder, recruiting our people would still strengthen their numbers.

Sometimes logic doesn't play as important of a role as it should when it comes to hating someone. Though it is far fetched and would be too neat of an answer for this.

Too little in concrete answers in all of this. Unless there's some sort of status for killing off a bunch of people from one group that isn't in an open conflict.

If he hasn't shown up in three days then you can assume he's dead and the vorcha have eaten him. Hopefully he wasn't that guy who had half his head blown off.

Hopefully it was a quick death and not a lingering one. Especially if he was the one that was executed.

From my experience of seeing people get their heads blown off, it was instantaneous. But if you want to know more there was this human kid lingering around. He might know something.

Anyone take him under their wing? Normally someone with this sort of thinking wouldn't want to leave loose ends.

If a human is that stupid to be broadcasting something like that on Omega, he better have someone looking out for him. That's all I'm saying.

Unfortunately, from what I've learned about human teenagers, they're not exactly the brightest when it comes to things like this.

[Believe her she's babysat two and a genius child during a war. Intelligence about their safety is not the greatest]

I am a strong feeling I know who the kid is and his roommate. I'll likely help make certain he doesn't get killed in a dark alley over broadcasting what he did.

[ Marco's casually flipping through extranet posts while waiting for his next delivery; the pizza shop opened up pretty quickly once the water came on, and despite the fact that he really didn't want to be outside at all in case somehow someone figured out what had happened and decided he needed to be taken out in an escalating grudge match.

Then, there's a sudden sinking feeling in his gut when he comes across this post. He recognizes the voice instantly, as his nosiness about his roommate's liaison meant that he was on the lookout for more ways to snoop.

Of course, he didn't think that this meant he'd find out about the horrible coincidence that the guy he offed was her roommate. At least she doesn't sound that attached to him; it's one less thing to feel bad about. People here died all the time. It's all gonna be fine.

It's a good thing that an order comes in not much later, because it stops him from flipping through the rest of the responses to the post with growing horror. He sucks in a deep breath and stubbornly shoves all of it out of his mind, grabs the stack of boxes, and hits the street. ]

[And as anyone knows when something like this happens and you want to avoid someone. Fate shows her true colors and makes it to where you will always run into the person you want to avoid.

It likely doesn't help that Arcee is also partially looking for Marco while trying to not act like she is. She had gone back to find the record of the death that was broadcasted and had taken note of how he had looked and who he talked to. She likely would have to see if Prowl knew what had happened with his roommate whenever she could feasibly make contact with him without drawing attention.

So it is not surprising when she literally stalks him until he's done with this round of delivering and on his way back before making her presence known.]

[ Pizzas were distributed more or less without incident; Marco had been at this enough to know the best ways to get around, optimizing for some combination of shortest distance, least foot traffic, most escape routes in case he had to run from something, fewest blind spots, etc. It's a continuous bob and weave around the district, and some of his pathfinding decisions might seem completely inscrutable to the potential stalker, but it all makes sense to him.

He's at least as nervous being out and about in the world as he was right after the hit, just with more practice dealing with it. Still, he's checking over his shoulder, sweeping the streets every time he turns a corner, eyeing everyone who eyes him, and being generally incredibly cautious.

But he still doesn't notice his Autobot tail. The unfortunate side effect of deciding that he's being spooked by every shadow is that he's writing off an actual shadowing spook. He's target-locked onto getting back to pizzabase without running into trouble, so Arcee's going to have to grab his attention if she wants to pester him. ]

[All this just proving her worries in regards to his safety. Especially since he managed to completely not notice the shiny blue robotic being among the rest of the population roaming about.

So it was likely why she decided to take a page from one of her old slave drivers pretending to be a superior officer.]

You could have been dead ten times over by now if I was an enemy.

[Hope you don't mind suddenly having her suddenly drop down behind you from wherever she was on the ceiling and invading your personal bubble there.]

[ marco should, in general, know better than to fail to look up. in addition to finding out that he has a massive blind spot, arcee is also finding out that when startled, marco screams like a little girl. yes, he minds. ]

[ here he is, woefully unarmed with only a thin layer of body armor under his delivery boy uniform to give him a laughable sense of safety, spending the last few days jumping at every shadow thinking someone might be trying to kill him, and a shadow actually jumps back.

his eyes dart wildlly for an escape route until he recognizes his assailant. he doesn't feel much better knowing who she is, but at least it means he's not immediately trying to run off. ]

[She just had an odd flashback to the first time she met Jack. That just makes her shake her head slowly in response to this. You are going to be a lot of work already she sees. Hopefully Prowl can help in areas a scout never really had to deal with.]

Aside from the fact most of you organics never think about threats that may come from above, despite having the technology to have airborne threats, your biggest mistake was not running or crippling your opponent enough to get away upon noticing you were not alone.

[She does back off a bit to eye you critically for a few moments.]

You're going to need to learn at least constant vigilance when not in the safety of your room. Especially if you plan on being labeled as that human who advertises kills that may or may not be related to the power struggle on this station.
