[The face that appears on the feed from the omni-tool is certainly alien, and distinctly female to those who actually know her race. But she certainly doesn’t look impressed in the slightest, of anything she looks mildly bored with the entire scenario.]

So, I’m not sure if everyone has lost their minds since I was last to Omega, but I’ve had about six humans ask me what I was. Now I know that all of you have only been acquainted with turians for thirty years, but if you’re going to be part of the galaxy you should figure out what a turian is, there’s only twenty billion of us in the galaxy.

So if anyone else has stupid questions to ask me, I’ll be in Afterlife having a drink and trying to enjoy the dancers.

Also, can someone kindly explain why I’m on Omega when I should be on Illium? Never wanted to be on this rubble heap again, and it only looks like it’s become more degraded since my last charming visit.

One would think keeping a low profile would be a better course of action. Safer, at any rate, though I suppose nobody's ever gotten rich by being too cautious.

I'm not out to get rich, not like most of the people here. I just want to stay out of the hierarchy's talons and make enough to be comfortable. Of course being an anonymous turian on Omega is likely the best cover I have. Even better if I was in a merc gang.

Currently, neither. Just looking for a place to live so the vorcha don't claw my eyes out.

I had a vorcha roommate for about a day and a half. Turned up dead in a back alley somewhere.

Guess that's just life around here. Anyway, I have space available if you're interested. I'd just rather not end up with more vorcha if it can be avoided.

I would say that's unfortunate, but I don't really think it is.

I think you might've found yourself a roommate. I'll make sure to label anything I put in the fridge so I don't poison you by accident. Had that happen once to my salarian roommate, I didn't know it was possible for him to look more green than he already was.

If it comes down to it, I know a decent doctor. I'll send the coordinates to your omni-tool, let me know if you need assistance moving anything.

A good doctor is an invaluable thing on this station. But I won't need help moving anything all I have are the clothes on my back and the weapons I have with me.

Pax Nectalas. Nice to meet you Kirrahe, knowing one another's names should likely be a good way to start. Now comes the question, what do you usually do for a living?

I'm an STG operative, specialize in espionage. Considering I can't contact anyone outside this station, I may have no choice but to go freelance.

STG, haven't had contact with anyone from there in a long time. I used to work with a few in the encryption department, nice guys, could never follow their thoughts when it came to coding though. It was like watching a pyjack on red sand.

I will admit, some of the tech guys can be tough to keep up with. Personally, I prefer field work. The idea of being stuck in a lab or office all day has never looked appealing to me.

I always found building and working with code relaxing. Technology has always been an interest, although being in the hierarchy it was all for the cause not for individual accomplishments.

I'd rather spend my time building computers and programs, not out getting shot. Although being here that's just a part of daily life if you go outside.

How are you with omni-tools?

Depends on the model and what you're running as the operating system. But that's where I started was on omni-tools, so I'd say I'm fairly accomplished. Did some work on omni-blades, not my finest work but I worked out some glitches.

I think anything you can do would be of benefit. All of my systems are three years outdated.

If it's three years outdated I'll have to do some serious work with it. Hopefully if you're STG they're going to give you quality to begin with, it'll help me greatly.

I'll have a look at it when I can, do you know the manufacturer?

Sirta Foundation. It's never given me problems, it's just not compatible with a lot of programs now.

That's not surprising then, about two years ago they completely removed the operating system you're using and updated to a different kind of runtime coding. It's easy enough to fix, but I'll have to change some of your hardware to compensate for the cool-down time. Make it run a little faster overall.

I see. No wonder nothing's functioning properly.

How much would something like that cost to upgrade? I'm not about to ask you to do this for me for free.

My ball park guess is about a hundred credits for everything, if you'd go to someone else they'd probably charge you around 300 which you'd be better off to buy a new on in that case. It might be cheaper than 100 if I don't need to change the parts. It'd be about 40 then.

That sounds more than reasonable to me. I'm not sitting on a ton of credits at the moment, but I can afford that much.

I don't think either of us are. I have enough on the credit chit I came with to be comfortable but it's meagre compared to what I had on Illium.

I can imagine. I've got enough for a couple months. It'll be tight, but I can eat.

If we're stuck here indefinitely, I'll have to find work.

There's lots of jobs here for ex-STG, even if you're currently STG. Think of it as a very strange sabbatical if the ethics bother you.

I'm sure there are people that would pay a lot of good money for a good infiltrator.

I don't like it, but it may be my only good option. I'm going to have to find out more about this place if I'm going to be advertising myself.
