Quaint place, reminds me of a lot of places that wanted me dead. But, none of you really care about that or virtual tea parties of friendship making.

Well, that's something. Not sure if it is above or below the usual machine insult.

[She's not really trying to aggravate, but being demanded like that while still being attack rankles on a lot of her nerves. Especially the ones that tell her to fight back more aggressively. It's taking a lot of effort to just remain blocking and dodging and ignoring the need to end this one way or another.]

[He's still distrustful, but she is making sense. Slowly, he pulls back away from her, but he still keeping an eye on her every movement and ready to react at a moment's notice if she proves herself false.]

[And once she's certain he's not going to suddenly decide to attack again her own blade retracts. Metal folding and smoothing as it reforms into her arm and hides the blade within.]

It's something different too, to see the blades retract themselves underneath metal plates so smoothly, almost like it is natural for blades to slide back underneath skin. It creeps him a little, but he hides it with a "hmph" and walks back to where he dropped his rations before he charged at Arcee. After he secures them, he turns back to her and asks:]

The basic can't leave, Aria rules all, I'm likely to get shot in the back just as easily as getting shot in the face depending on who doesn't like me. Cheery welcome, makes me almost feel like I never left home at times.

[His brow wrinkles with distaste; the mere thought of paying something that comes off as blackmail leaves a bad taste in his mouth but there's not much he can do in the situation, not yet anyway. His aching ribs are a reminder that in Omega he can't just do as he please.]

Find someone to lodge with, preferably someone you can tolerate. The basic wages are a pittance and you won't have enough to make ends meet if you try to make it on your own just yet.

Well at least they're not trying to pretend it's taxes or something. Honest thugs are better then thugs trying to act civilized.

[She's just glad this isn't going to be another criminals playing as politicians or such. Those are a lot harder to shoot in the face when they get uppity then straight up thugs. Though she does frown at the living situation part.]

And that will be easier said then done in this place. I have a feeling I will have to be lucky to find someone that can tolerate me more then the other way around.

Scum is still scum. You can dress it up with words but it doesn't change what they are and what they deserve: the sharp edge of an executioner's sword.

Then you'll just have to live with it. I have a particularly annoying housemate who seems to feed off my irritation, but thankfully I don't have to see his face often. We have separate hours and I try not to bother myself with him.

I'm in full agreement with you there, though I'm seeing it's not going to be that simple in this place.
