If anyone is getting this who came off the shuttles, you have to listen to me.
[Shepard breaks off momentarily to look around the corner she's taken behind, and is rewarded for her efforts by nearly getting blasted in the face.
she's not bothering with introductions this time, and why should she? she's clearly in a combat zone. the sounds of fighting and dying compose the delightful soundtrack to this message. she's in state herself; full armor minus helmet, dirt and blood caking her face. couple that with her ferocious expression, and she can be a bit intimidating, even over vidlink.]
These are called adjutants. I won't bore you with a lecture about what they are beyond that-- [the reason why not made abundantly clear when she's shot at and is forced to duck down from flying bits of wall] --all you have to know is to keep them as far away from you as possible.
They don't want to kill you, they want to turn you into one of them. They do this by attacking you, causing injury, fluids exchange...it doesn't really matter. It happens when they get too close, and there's no going back. Keep them at a distance. If you can't fight, hunker down, locks the doors, let someone know where you are- If you can fight, I hope you can protect others as well as yourself! There's a small safe area here- [coordinates for an abandoned warehouse in the middle of Zeta, hopefully with enough space to take in a large amount of people], get yourself or others to it, and make a bigger perimeter if you can. Find and make other safe areas if you can't, keep us posted.
[the view swings downward suddenly and violently as Shepard finally pulls out of cover to take a few shots, before the feed cuts.]
[ooc: Shepard's going to try to round up non-combatants and set up safe zones, help people in trouble, take down the gross dudes, looking for survivors in locked homes... she'll need help getting into damaged areas (calling techie people!), fighting huge clusters of adjutants (calling fightie people!), and herding (heh) people to safety (calling support people!). ACTION LOGS GO]

Any time he reached a new area where there was little to no activity, Kengo checked his omni-tool for updates to the network. There was no point in deactivating it now that he was running around and referencing it so much, but he hoped the orange glow wouldn't make him much of a target. He'd watched the video, immediately moving to open a line of communication with the woman who had posted it as he checked the coordinates on his map. If there was anyone who hadn't received them, then he would make it his job to help clear people out of the halls.]
Are there civilians at your position?
text/video
so ok wise gal how am i suposed 2 get from here...
[ A short video clip is attached to the post, from the roof of one of the shorter housing towers. Noises similar to ones in Shepard's post were distant, and muzzle flashes could be seen somewhere below, as well as in some of the neighboring buildings. ]
2 the safe house???
[ With Marco's luck, he had picked a building to hang out in that in the middle of the more, uh, exciting part of the situation, and he wasn't particularly looking forward to crossing the war zone to get to Shepard's magical happy coordinates.
It occurred to him that it might be a better idea to hide in a closet with his head tucked between his knees in the tried and true safety position for any catastrophe his half a dozen years of American public school trained him for, but that felt too much like waiting to die. Meanwhile, he peered over the rise of the wall separating him from a pretty long fall to his death, and wondered what he did in life to deserve this. ]
action (THIS GOT LONG SORRY HAHA...)
Even without hearing to keep her distance, Ino has enough of a survival instinct to know to stay away while she figures out a weakness. So she's throwing most of her kunai and shuriken, that explosion a note she had hidden among her inventory and attached to a kunai. It seems to be enough to get the adjutants closing in to back off a little, one of them even falls to the ground.
She's currently hidden among a few crates with a couple civilians as debris flies over their heads from her explosion. It may or may not have taken a small chunk out of a wall nearby.
With one down, she figures this is as good a chance as any.]
Okay! I'm going to distract that monster into chasing me while you get away! Find somewhere safe to hide! And hurry!
[They look nervous at having to run out there blind, but nod. Ino leaps out of cover, just in time to dodge a biotic attack. She shoves her hand into her pouch and launches a couple kunai at her enemy, aiming at his head. They hit their mark, blinding the adjutant for just a moment while the civilians quickly sprint in the other direction without being seen.
Relieved (for now), Ino continues her assault, but spends most of her time dodging. She doesn't know what that attack of its is, and she doesn't want to find out. One gets a little too close, exploding next to her spot on the ceiling and sends her careening onto the ground harshly with a cry. Yeah, definitely don't want a direct hit from THAT.
She stands up, more determined than ever, sends a few more kunai to knock it back, and is back to dodging and attacking when she can.
SHEPARD HELP??]
[Action]
Conner had made sure that Tim was okay on his own helping people out and that he'd keep a tab on him, if any trouble came up he'd be there.
So Conner left and made his way further in the zone. Finding Shepard was relatively easy. Relatively. He threw out a thin shield to block more debris from flying at her as he landed.]
Those are some ugly sons of bitches. Got any tips on weak points? You seem to know these things well enough.
[A crate that's not bolted down? No problem, he'll just borrow it and use it as a projectile. Well, enough to slow it down.]
[ACTION]
there's some people getting cornered nearby and carolina is heading for them swiftly, eying up the situation as she goes. three adjutants. four civilians. didn't look like it'd be easy to slip them away, so it only left killing the creatures to rescue them. carolina isn't feeling terribly confident with her new weapon yet but it's enough to get her moving into the fray.
the 'stay a safe distance' is a bit lost on her when she runs up behind the closest adjutant and kicks it square in the back of the head, the boost from her armor sending the creature a short distance- and thankfully away from the person it had been after. she doesn't stop to talk to them, instead charging after the thing to open fire.
there was shit to get done, pleasantries could wait.]
action;
especially if it means that she can keep her sister safe in the meantime.
she has her cloak engaged at first, which keeps her from being seen by the few adjutants she passes by - and she has to keep from wincing at the thought that these used to be people, once.
no time for sentiments, major. you didn't get where you are by being empathetic.
she finds shepard and immediately takes cover next to her, de-cloaking and reaching for her pistol, ready to fire at anything that comes her way. it isn't until she sees the other's n7 armor that she realizes -
is that?] - Commander Shepard?
no subject
I certainly hope so. [eyeing the other's armor and nodding in affirmation] Doing okay, soldier?
no subject
except .. this does not look like her shepard. or .. how has everyone else been putting it? the shepard from her universe.
she's never met the commander before. so forgive her if she's just a little bit star-struck.] I .. yes sir, I'm just fine! Working on getting rid of these abominations. Could you use any extra help here?
Action
How long have you been here?
no subject
Long enough to be getting restless. You're pretty good at navigating vents, Liara. You'll have to show Joker so he can avoid getting-

[She'll pop her head up to toss a singularity and pop a few shots before hunkering down again.]
I don't think I'm the person to be giving advice on staying out of trouble, it seems to find me just as readily as it finds you.
[Voice]
Steve still won't turn down the warning and he's not about to hide in his apartment when he can help.]
Shepard, if you need any help I'm more than happy to give you a hand.

[He nods and straightens.]
Send me your coordinates and I'll get there as soon as I figure out how to follow them.
[He'll get there. Even if he has to beat his omni-tool against a wall to get it to tell him.]
Welcome to direct civilians to clinic Shepard. Happy to help. Can provide safe location. No adjutants sighted in area.
