Yes, it seems that the Pyjaks have managed to infest everywhere. They are better than the adjutants, I just wish they weren't so good at getting into locked areas.

[She's smiling, so it's obvious she's teasing. Pyjaks, huh? Everything around here had weird and difficult to remember names. But then again, hopefully they wouldn't come back so there was no need.

Ino released a frustrated sigh at her question.]

I haven't been able to take a shower in almost a week. I feel digusting.

I can agree with that, at least I was able to get some water for drinking and cooking but if this shortage goes on too long we'll all start to smell like krogan.

[You can tell that it isn't exactly something that she wants, as much as she adores the krogan she calls friends, sometimes they need to shower.]

My lockpicking skills are...a learned talent. You get to experience some interesting opinions working in the information business.

[All the water they (Naruto and Ino) had acquired had to be used for things like food and drinking too. Naruto didn't seem to mind the...filth but Ino was about damn near to losing her mind. Girls were not supposed to smell like this. Not Ino girl.]

Yes, people pay me to gather information for them or pay me to remove information on them. It's a very dedicated job but it seems I'm very good at it.

[Liara's not happy about not showering either, it's why she's burning incense she found.]

gathering information is something ino did, but removing? that required a lot of inside work and it couldn't be done just by one person.]

Liara's certainly surprised that Ino would be curious as to if she had anyone assisting her. Perhaps this was one way she could start up getting her information network running fluidly again.]

It can be, but I'm a very good information broker.

I don't have anyone helping me right now, but having connections to people who can get information is very useful for brokers.

[Ino considers her options. Along with being a medic at the clinic, actually performing some ninja work might be a breath of fresh air. Plus, she likes (maybe even trusts just a little) Liara enough to help her as long as she wasn't doing anything to jeopardize innocent lives.

But Ino never pegged her as that kind of person.]

Yes, that is usually one of the most important aspects is getting reliable information from sources you trust.

[Liara's not interested in hurting people, she wants to go home as much as Ino does, or at least back to her proper place on the Normandy. But she does need information and a network, both of which has been sluggish up until now but if she could grab Ino with the talent she has it would be an amazing win for Liara.]

Are you interested in assisting me Ino? I can't promise it will be safe work. Information gathering can be dangerous.

[Nobody knows unsafe work like Ino does. She smiles to herself even if Liara can't see.]

Yeah! If what we're doing can help the people on Omega in any way, I'm in.

It might be one of our chances for all of us to go home as well as assisting people here.

[She can hear that Ino's certainly interested in helping her and she's glad for that.]

Have you done any information collecting before?

[Go home. Yeah, she needs to do that too. She has a war to fight in.]

My clan's jutsu is made for that sort of thing, in a way.

[She struggles a bit for a while but finally manages to make this message a bit more private.]

It's that power I used before when you found me on the ground. I entered the consciousness of that ... adjutant. I've been trying to read minds better too. My dad--

[She chokes a bit here but shakes herself.]

[Liara will lock this call down once she notices Ino's tried to make it private, just to make sure that nothing slips.]

You can read minds, I've never heard of a human with such an ability.

[But Liara understands Ino's pain where her father is concerned, she still misses her mother terribly and even with Aethyta around she's not sure if the other matriarch is still alive. It's something she doesn't want to think about and doesn't allow herself to.]

Things like that take time and practice, to have that ability is extraordinary already. It's a talent that would be incredibly valuable to gathering information.

The Yamanaka were a unique clan, like the Nara and Akimichi. Together, their ninjutsu and teamwork was renowned throughout the world and was nearly unmatched.

She's about to say it is pretty valuable but her world shatters around her with that small question.

Close didn't even cover it. She was daddy's princess. She was the pride of the Yamanaka clan according to him. He was so, so proud of her and his last words strike through her heart like a viscous blow and she wants to crumple.

She hasn't been able to talk about her dad to anyone, about how she felt. She hasn't even really had time to mourn. Between the war and suddenly being put here, there wasn't a chance. In a way, she didn't want to believe it either. She had ignored it, was able to since she had made herself so busy.

But now that Liara has mentioned it?

Unbidden tears well up in her eyes and slip down her cheeks. It's only when she realizes she hasn't spoken, throat closed up, that she chokes out a reply, trying to clear her voice but to no avail. She chokes on air.]

[Liara wasn't expecting how torn up Ino was about her father, but it was understandable in many ways. She herself had felt so lost when Benezia had died in her arms that day on Noveria.

She knows there isn't much she can do when comforting someone over the loss of a parent and one that she was obviously very dear to. So instead she gives the usual words, heartfelt but still somehow feeling hollow in their meaning.]

I'm sorry, Ino. Loss like that is always difficult.

[She had been avoiding it as best she could but it looks like she can't anymore.

There's silence as she wipes her eyes and then she finally answers.]

I'm just glad...I got to say goodbye. [No matter how much it hurt. Still hurt.]

And that he died a hero, saving everyone.

[It's only because of Omega and how much she has buried herself in things to do that she feels this way. The station has even provided her with some nice distractions. Not nice in the traditional sense, but nice because they keep her occupied well enough that she doesn't have to revisit the loss.

The empty feeling is always there, however.]

That's more than some get in the galaxy. I'm sure he was proud of you, even in the end.

[They're soft words, consoling Ino as best she knows how. There's a pain that Liara can understand, one that never fades, but she's grown to accept. It's something that Liara knows she cannot allow to hold her back and she wants the same for Ino.]

An old friend told me once that grieving was okay and that we all do in our own way. Don't think you need to rush through it, come to it on your own terms and that doesn't mean you'll miss them any less, but you understand more.

[Perhaps it wasn't something that needed to be said but Shepard's words to her on the Presidium that one afternoon had meant more to her than she imagined. She would always miss her mother but now, now was not the time to think about it when Ino needed someone to stand with her.]

Yeah.

[Ino would never forget his last words. They echo in her mind like they were said only moments ago. She smiles a bit as she also remembers Shikamaru's father and his fluster over hiding something from his wife.

She can only guess.

Liara's words are appreciated, especially Ino feels more alone than ever. But she did have a couple people here; she had Naruto, and Marco to look after, and she had Liara, too, in a way. Their friendship was only beginning but all flowers started out as a seed. She just had to take care of this seed.

Liara was doing her part.

So Ino smiles a little more easily.]

[At the very least she's relieved to hear a little less sorrow in her voice, even though it's a very depressing topic.]

I know with this water shortage it seems like a bad time but I did get some tea if you'd like to have some.

[Despite herself, Ino winces a bit at having to go outside when she...felt less than public-ready. Her hair was so gross.

Tea does sound great though, not to mention someone to chat with. Is there a hat somewhere she can wear?]

I don't know much about them but I think they carry quite a few diseases. But my apartment here is 120-C, it's just me currently so don't worry about anyone else loitering around.

[Liara has seen Shepard come back coated in just about every substance in the galaxy, many she didn't want to identify, ever. So having an unwashed Ino around would be a nice change. PLus she could use the company.]

[Creepy dudes with diapers, really. Even without the warning, Ino knows she doesn't want to go near them if she had to talk to aliens. The krogan, batarians, and vorcha are the ones she wants to avoid.

[Liara will be waiting for Ino to show up and when she does she'll let her in. Despite not having water Liara looks pretty much the same as ever and her place smells like some kind of light but apparent incense.]
