Missing: one teenage girl. 5'3, strawberry blonde hair, green eyes, fair skin. last seen around 48 hours ago, wearing green dress, boots, and a black jacket. subject may be hostile but unarmed. report sightings or location to this ID.

[ that's all he's putting on the network, because he's hoping - fuck, he really is - that someone's seen her. it seemed like everything was okay - awkward, but okay. but she hasn't been back to the apartment in two days and stiles has torn up and down omega looking for her. and then aria's announcement saying she was thinking of letting people get shot -

no, calm down, stiles. maybe she just got lost. hell, even kidnapped.

without a ransom?

he heads for the markets again. maybe there's someone who's seen lydia. maybe he'll find lydia again. but there's a dejected drop in his shoulders that says he's starting to lose hope. ]

[and a second actually ends up being more like a few minutes, because shuffling through the markets takes him longer than a normal human being. but he finds stiles easily enough, mouth pulling to the side as he ends up standing next to him.]

Find anything yet?

[joker it's only been like five minutes what do you expect.]

sure yeah, okay.

[ stiles likes joker, despite - or maybe because of - their odd relationship. joker gives stiles flying lessons, stiles dents his shuttle... it's all good, right?

he's hanging around an empty stall that an asari once worked in and he looks up when he sees joker. ]

Not yet. [ but then he shrugs his shoulders. ] But I mean, she's a genius, right? She could be hiding somewhere.

[ It was impossible for Rachel not to notice when Lydia had gone missing. She kept hoping that she'd show up at any moment, that they could all breathe a sigh of relief...but there's been no sign of her. It makes Rachel more uneasy than she'd like to admit.

She catches Stiles in the marketplace, reaching out to put a hand on his arm when she sees him. Her face is etched with concern. ]

Hey -- any luck?

[ rachel's been pretty chill about the whole thing. and by that, stiles means she's let him have his freakouts and even been helpful, without telling him it'll be all right.

good room mate, there. he looks over at her when she speaks and then heaves a sigh with his whole body. ]

No. [ it sounds grudgingly dragged out of him. ] She hasn't responded to my post and no one around here has seen her in the last two days. The clinic's missing a doctor, too.

[ maybe mordin abducted her?! ]

[ because as soon as marco sees this post he thinks of rachel. oops. ]

lydia's been missing the last two days. no network no sight of her. nothing.

She keeps her hand on his arm, her brow knitted in genuine concern. She likes Stiles, okay? And she really liked Lydia. This is hard for him, she can see that. She can't imagine what it'd be like to lose somebody like that, especially here. ]

Look, if she's on the station somewhere, we'll find her.

[ Her voice is firm, full of conviction. Because that's what he needs right now, right? He needs to see someone being strong. ]

[ he bobs his head after a moment, swallowing back words. what if they can't find her? what then?

he appreciates rachel's conviction, but he's still feeling the fluttery edges of panic. ]

Yeah, I mean, there's only like a gazillion levels she could hide on, right? [ it's slightly bitter, that laugh. ] Or hide a body, anyway.

[ then he huffs, rubbing a hand over his head. ]

I didn't mean that. I'm just - she's important to me, and I wanna know she's okay.

It'll be okay, Stiles.

[ Her voice is still firm, but she's trying not to frown. He's obviously really upset, and she can't blame him. Her eyes harden a little at the body comment, and her jaw tightens. ]

If there's a body, it's not going to be the last one they find.

[ The words are mostly muttered, with far more heat and conviction than you'd usually suspect from a fourteen-year-old girl, but if somebody murdered Lydia? Hell yeah Rachel would get revenge. But...somehow, she doesn't think that's how Lydia ended up. And she tries to give Stiles a smile, even a weak one. ]

Lydia's way too smart to end up like that, and you know it. I mean...she might have just gone home, you know? It happens sometimes, just at random.

And how do you know that?

[ it's a quick snap, because god dammit, it's not okay. he can't find lydia, which means something terrible has happened, or that she's gone home.

and he's not sure he likes that option, since there's still jackson jackhole whittemore and the werewolves. and he's clearly not there to help. ]

[ he heaves a sigh, his shoulders slumping again. ]

She's smart enough to avoid trouble unless she wants to go looking for it, and she wasn't looking. I just dunno if she's any safer at home...

[he's still fully intending for stiles to pay for the damages that he's done to his shuttle - but that doesn't matter right now. they do have an odd relationship at best, but he genuinely likes the kid.

maybe because he reminds him a lot of himself when he was that age. except .. not as twitchy.

his mouth pulls to the side in a small frown when he says he hasn't found anything.] She's a genius? Then how'd she manage to get herself lost in the first place?

[ Okay, Cassie is way better at the actual comforting thing than Rachel is, but she's trying. She even tries to give Stiles' arm a squeeze before she pulls back. ]

Is it that bad at home? I mean...what's the deal with your universe, anyway?

[ stiles still huffs out a breath and rubs his hands over his hair before he looks at rachel. ]

Depends on if you wanna explain what the deal with yours is.

[ because they still hadn't talked about her shape changing in front of him. he had never intended to let it lie for so long but if she wanted to know about his world, he wanted to know what was up with hers. ]

But yes, it is that bad. She could be in some serious danger at home.

[ stiles knows that he's still bound to repay those damages, but for now - he enjoys the fact that he gets to learn about shuttles and piloting while indentured.

the frown and the subsequent question makes him throw up his hands a little. ]

Yes she's a genius, but this isn't anything like home, dude! I don't blame her for getting lost that first time.

[ now, though, he's not sure she has an excuse. ]

[it just means that if joker ever doesn't feel like piloting himself somewhere, he's going to get stiles to do it. free rides .. with someone that could potentially steer them into a black hole or a super nova and end their entire existence.

he makes a face at the flailing. doesn't think he's ever going to get used to that. sheesh.] Okay, okay. Just .. calm down. Go pop some ritalin or something, jesus. You don't have any idea where she could be?

[ no he's lying, that's not happening. at the question though, he shakes his head, scrubbing a hand over his hair. ]

I checked the clinic, I checked the markets, the landing pad, hell, I went through some of the other districts.

[ stiles gets to be incredibly childish rn ok ]

I saw her during the fires, but I haven't seen her since then. I'll keep an eye out and let you know.
