[ stiles watches her, expression curious. he's almost about to speak up, to say he was just joking, when she finally says that they can talk. and it makes him relax, a little, even if he wishes he had lydia here. ]

[he can appreciate the attempt not to feel. there have been several times in his life, mostly since this whole reaper thing started that he's caught himself trying not to think about this dad and sister. whether they're okay, that they're taking care of each other, all of that crap -

[ Rachel sucks in a breath, ready to say no, because come on, she's gone, but -- she exhales, nodding, a rueful twist to her lips. ]

[Naruto blinks a few times as Stiles makes his way over. there's a little salute and then a somewhat annoyed expression at the question.]

Eh? No, I'm the real one. The clone's over there, y'know.

[he points towards off towards the side to an identical Naruto, a clone he'd made a few moments ago to help him find... whoever it was he was looking for.]

[ stiles practically wails it, latching onto something so he doesn't have to think about how he misses his dad. he still misses lydia, though, and he buries his face in his hands again. ]

[ that's a very bitter sound. he did all this work to keep her safe only to lose her anyway. ]

[ stiles gives her a thin smile. ] Thanks.

[ he ends up giving one last circuit around zeta looking for her, leaving her another message just asking her to tell him that she's okay, she doesn't have to come by.

then he makes his way back to the house, ready to talk to rachel. at least this is happening, even if he wishes lydia were here too. ]
